This is Thomas, my baby dumbo rat, sleeping in my hand It looks as if he is on his last legs but I can assure you he is perfectly healthy lol. Just a very sleepy little fella! Bless him…

Omg hes so cute! I’ve had my rats just 1 or 2 months and everyone I’ve told thinks they bite and carry diseases. I’m getting too lazy to tell everyone that rats are the best cage pets you can find. From now on I’m just going to tell them to Google it or get a pet rat and see for yourself.

Also, I would advise against getting just one. They are very sociable animals and get lonely on their own. I recommend getting 2 of the same sex

They are adorable little creatures… Such a shame they have such a horrible reputation. If you are thinking of getting one, I would personally get a boy. But it depends what qualities you want really.. Girls tend to be faster and will scurry around alot whereas boys will often sit quite still on you. My boy rats have always loved sitting on my shoulder and I just walk around the house with them sat up there… Girls are less likely to let u do that… BUT… girls smell alot less than boys
