My Mother and her twin brother were born 21 weeks early on the 19 January 1933, No prem baby care then both babies were wrapped up in a wicker laundry basket and my Grandmother was told to keep them warm, The nuns at the convent would bring cut wood everyday

My mums brother was a wee lad but very naughty, he once climbed on the sails of Bocking windmill and got stuck,
when he started school he was sat next to a wee young lad from a certain Tabour family in Braintree, the lad had lovely curly hair, My mums brother chopped the lads hair off.

My mums brothers favorite trick was filling other kids wellies with rotten ducks eggs he had collected from the near by river.

During the war year he would knock on the convent door and tell them the family had lost their ration book, the nuns would give him bread and veg

After all the naughty things he did he went on as an adult to join the Royal Navy he served on the Submarine core as well as ships during his navy years which he excelled at he had Prince Charles under his wing, he served 45 years in the Royal Navy and had a great carer and became an officer

Not bad for a young lad whom was beaten a few times a week by the local bobbies belt

11 months

Eleven months already, and no update when she was ten months. Naughty Daddy…

We’re in good spirits. Robin is very much making herself known. She is fully aware of the world around her, also when things drop to the ground, or when she sees something in Tijn’s hands that she would like to have. Grabbing, reaching, leaning forward or sideways, bending over, her movements only limited by her lack of control over her body, particularly her upper body. I think the best English word to describe her now is feisty.

Lying on her back is totally not what she wants. Especially not since we started to help her stand against something firm, as you see above. This is totally her thing now: standing and then grabbing everything she can get hold of. Balance is not something she can maintain by herself. And her legs remain firmly in one position. She has no control over them when she stands. But boy, does she stand!

Last Friday, after we had returned from our holiday Robin got tubes in her hear. Several hearing tests had shown that the fluid in her middle ear was quite persistent. So tubes were in order. The operation went fine, no hick-ups. She went in around 8am, and by 12 she was already happily eating her lunch. The days after a lot of fluid leaked from both ears, so that was good.

Robin is great to be with. Always has been, but now that she is so active and so ‘with it’, mostly happy, eating well, and just too cuddly to be true. Day care is closed this week, as is Feline’s school, so the kids are with Patty’s parents. But we almost made an exception for Robin. Almost…

We will have a talk to her physiotherapist to discuss Robin’s upper body. She’s weak in that part, which is why she hardly makes any progress with sitting. The question is whether this is something we can train or otherwise support. Perhaps all it needs is time. But since she is so anxious, frustrated even, to get going, if there is something we can do, that would be great.

On the neurological side we have our next semi-annual appointment with the neurologist in August, so more about that in the 12 month update. But we do not expect much from it. Myeline development is not something they can do anything about and it will take another year before we now what has happened in her brain.

A couple of days ago we found the story of a Belgium lady with a son that was born with symptomatic congenital CMV, like Robin. He is now in his teens, with impaired motor skills, emotionally behind, and with ADHD. But also with an IQ of 134 and working his way through high school! That was really the first time we read about such a case. Now that Robin is growing older, she continues to lag by about 3-4 months all-in-all, not more. But her mental development seems further than her physical one. The way she enjoys a Baby Einstein DVD is brilliant, laughing out loud at some of the actions and figures.

Who knows? One day at a time.

Im making a video response to myself I know feels odd. But Im just responding to a user who said viets dont have class. I actually do appreciate his honest opinon .But all ethnicity do have class just depends on where you from and what culture you were brought up with.. I can definately say northern viets are still very conservative and old fashion. For south vietnamese there are actually opening to pop culture and fashion. I think there are four pheneotype looks of our people, 1) East Asian looks 2) Mix of EA/SEA looks 3) South East Asian/Native looks 4) Cauasian/hispanic looks Viet (kinh) = mix of Yue + Han + Tai vietnamese have a very diverse look For people to generalized what vietnamese should look like remember some points 1) Vietnamese is a nationality not an ethnicity 2) Majority are kinh (closest minority group in regards to physical looks and language is Muong, But for culture its Hoa) 3)Differnet physical appearance, dialects in each Region Bac Ky ( North Vietnamese) Truong Ky ( Central Vietnamese ) Nam Ky (Southern Vietnamese) (Southern Chinese Vietnamese ) called “Chợ Lớn (Northern Chinese Vietnamese) called “Chợ Nhỏ 4) Some viets may be mixed with a minority group or may not be aware of their family heritage I dont really have a problem its good to to have diverse physical appearance I guess Most of these are regular viet girls from UK, France Australia, Canada, US and Vietnam Singer is dominno Music is ajimaj I like this beat and rythme guess what …

I am what one might call a lactavist! A breastfeeding supporter!! I have breastfed my three children for a combined total of 7 years! They are the little ones you see in this video. I know and understand sometimes the need to formula feed is there and you can NOT breastfeed for some reason, this isn’t about that! If you can’t then you can’t and I still support you! My personal beliefs are that if you can breastfeed then PLEASE DO SO!!! It is what is best for your baby!!!! Nestlé and Wyeth, two of the World’s largest producers of powdered baby milk, are currently breaking a World Health Organization Code on the marketing of breast milk substitutes. I boycott Nestle!
