I’ve purchased these for every door in the house. They are extremely easy to operate for an adult but our 14 month old can’t reach above the handle to unlock it, yet. It would take him both hands to open, although adults can use just one. Only problem is that it doesn’t fit on the exterior doors.

Because it relocks once the handle is back up in place, I was concerned that I’d get locked in the room or down in the basement but it’s design keeps that from happening. The handle moves inside the guard to prevent this.

Still looking for something for the outside doors, but all other guards have stated to NOT use on exterior doors. Most likely because you can get locked out as the handle won’t go down to get back in. Just wish this one fit.

This is a great item. We have 18 month twin boys that figured out how to open the doors and this keeps them from doing that anymore. They cover the lever handles and really work. Only negative is that they are kind of bulky but this is the only peroduct out there that works for these handles, and older kids can operate them easily.

The door lever lock does serve its purpose in keeping my 2 year old out of the office–it’s not bad that he’s in there, but he loves to play with doors and constantly slam it! This deters just that! What’s true is that the part that covers the door handle does slide off a lot when an adult tries to enter the room, but it’s no big deal, it just ‘snaps’ back in place by lining up the groove on top with the bottom part of the ‘deadbolt.’ My husband wasn’t about to drill anything into our new doors, the adhesive does work for us although I’ve read complaints from others that it doesn’t. We haven’t had a problem with the adhesive. The product serves its purpose for our needs. However it did come without the package, we were scratching out heads on this one. We just got the clear door lever locks in a manilla envelope. Go figure!

I am returning the lever locks because my 2 1/2 year old figured them out right away. I wish there was a better solution out there.

I am very disappointed in this lock. It’s made out of flimsy plastic and it’s very easy for a two-year-old to snap apart and use the door handle.
