This was taken a few weeks ago at Ambury Park. I don’t know who put those rocks in the puddle like that (my guess is aliens), but I like the way they lead you into the shot.

My second visit back to this shot and it still gets me interested. The sky colour looks great but it didn’t pick up on the puddle? The rocks do some good work to the eye though, well done.

  53. August 29, 2010

    Chris Gin

No, for some reason the puddle didn’t have a reflection of the sky. Maybe it was the low angle I shot this from.

    Hi Chris!
Absolutely fantastic landscape! I wish I had such opportunity to shoot there :)
I love pink hue in the sky! And foreground exposure is just spot on!
Just wondering did you use some dri techniques making this gourgeous work or just nd grad filter?

  74. I too like the rocks positioning, absolutely beautiful. I love the pink tones!

  75. Very well chosen focal width ,makes it look very dynamic and gives the photo a great sense of depth , beautiful !

  76. luv the mood you have captured with this image…..

The aliens have an eye for composition:>)

  78. August 29, 2010

    Chris Gin

@canary.wharf – yes I use DRI on most of my landscapes, in addition to the grad filters. The filters balance the light pretty well, but I find a little blending is still required.

  79. Beautiful shot! I love the detail in the foreground.

  80. This is absolutely stunning capture Chris. love the color and composition.

  81. August 29, 2010

Wow, I need to start using filters. Great results with that gradient in the sky.

  84. August 29, 2010

    JC. photo

yea, I think the sheep did it.

Great composition! The distant mountains and wispy clouds really add to the feeling of depth.

  85. August 29, 2010

Ah, the sheep! Of course, why didn’t I think of that? :)
